A perfect evening just steps from home. Excellent cuisine, a kind chef, a warm welcome… the place is sublime. Thank you to the owners of La Belle Meunière who clearly enjoy making their guests happy. We stayed until the early hours, enjoying a tastefully and stylishly decorated room and a generous and delicious breakfast. Thank you, it was a real gem and I highly recommend it!

Accompanied by our Savoyard friends, on David's recommendation, we had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the menu, which was refined with wonderfully combined flavors. The chestnut flour bread was absolutely divine...🫠 Congratulations and thank you.

As regulars at this bistro, we always have a wonderful time here. The place is chic and welcoming, the dishes are varied, and the service is always very pleasant. It's a place where you feel right at home.

This restaurant has all the hallmarks of a fine dining establishment: a refined welcome, coats hung on hangers, a charming and beautifully decorated dining room, and high prices...except for the food itself. The dishes are poorly executed, flavor combinations are haphazard, vegetables are crunchy but actually undercooked, and the ravioli are sticky...in short, a huge disappointment! To top it all off, my partner's plates were smaller because he ordered the four-course menu, while I only had the three-course option...so we paid more for less generous portions (admittedly, there was one more course, but it feels stingy to have a greasy, cold 2cm² piece instead of two on your plate). At the same time, a restaurant that was two-thirds empty on a Friday night should have been a red flag.

We spent an evening enjoying a gourmet dinner, an overnight stay in a Paul Varenne room, and breakfast. The gourmet dinner was a delight: high-quality traditional cuisine, attentive service, everything was delicious and perfect. The wine pairing was excellent. Excellent, refined cuisine. Breakfast was identical to dinner: fresh, locally sourced ingredients, everything was succulent. A genuine desire to please and delight. The couple who run the hotel are attentive, caring, and always smiling, as are their apprentices in the dining room. I was truly delighted with this stay. Admittedly, one could point out a few slightly dated details here and there, such as the decor which could use a refresh. But this quickly fades into the background thanks to the sincere and touching welcome from the couple who run the hotel. We were especially fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with Madame—Monsieur was in the kitchen—and her kindness, presence, and attentiveness completely made us forget everything else. In the end, we were left with a feeling of well-being and a very fond memory of this stay.

We just had lunch and it was delicious. A wonderful Christmas menu in a warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

We ate at the gourmet restaurant while passing through the area and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The four-course menu was very generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. Special mention goes to the mango and passion fruit ravioli dessert. The owner's welcome was also very much appreciated.

A wonderful place for dinner with friends. The food is delicious, the seasonal produce is expertly prepared, and the service is excellent. A fantastic find in Royat.

We only ate at the restaurant. The setting is beautiful, and the service is pleasant. However, we were disappointed with the fine dining restaurant, where the dishes didn't match the menu description. We ordered an asparagus charlotte with spider crab, but we were served a zucchini charlotte with peas, although we did get the spider crab. Our main course was Wagyu beef, but it didn't taste anything like the breed we were expecting. Finally, the dessert was good, but the macarons were soggy. We can't say we ate badly, but it wasn't worth the price and certainly not what we ordered!

Hotel well situated, elevated above the river. Public parking, therefore unsupervised, is located below. It's best to unload your luggage at the hotel entrance (parking is a bit tricky) and not leave anything in the car. Friendly welcome. Excellent tasting dinner in the restaurant overlooking the river. All the dishes were exquisite. 😊 I was a little less impressed with the room, which was otherwise bright and cool in the middle of summer. - Two out of four Venetian blinds were out of order, which prevented a full view of the river. - No hooks in the bathroom for clothes, nor any place to put hand towels other than by the radiator. - Unreliable and weak Wi-Fi. - No drink prices listed for the minibar, so it's unclear, for example, if bottled water is complimentary.

An exceptional chef for extraordinary cuisine... All in a magical setting and with service worthy of the finest establishments! I highly recommend Christine and Laurent Jury of La Belle Meunière!
